Festival Tours (9 Days / 8 Nights – Jambay Lhakhang Drup Festival)

The Jambay Lhakhang Drup is one of Bhutan’s most sacred and ancient festivals, held annually at Jambay Lhakhang in the Bumthang valley.

It celebrates the legacy of Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) and the consecration of the temple, which is over 1,300 years old. 

The festival usually occurs in October or November (dates follow the Bhutanese lunar calendar).

9 Days / 8 Nights – Jambay Lhakhang Drup Festival

Day 1: Arrival in Paro → Thimphu ✈️ – Arrive at Paro Airport, visit Rinpung Dzong and Kyichu Lhakhang. Drive to Thimphu, stop at Tamchog Lhakhang, visit Tashichho Dzong, explore local markets. Overnight in Thimphu 🏨. 🏨.

Day 2: Thimphu → Punakha 🌄 – Drive via Dochula Pass, visit Punakha Dzong, enjoy valley views. Overnight in Punakha 🏨.

Day 3: Punakha → Bumthang 🏔️ – Travel by road, scenic villages en route, check into hotel. Overnight in Bumthang 🏨.

Day 4 and 5: Bumthang – Festival Day 🎭🔥 – Attend Jambay Lhakhang Drup, watch Cham dances and Mewang fire ritual. Overnight in Bumthang 🏨.

Day 6: Bumthang – Phobjikha🕯️ – Depart fromBumthang after a hearty breakfast at Ugyenling Restaurant → Quick visit toJakar Dzong for a glimpse of local history and panoramic valley views → Begin your drive towardPhobjikha Valley (approx. 5-6 hours, winding through forests and mountain passes).

Day 7: Phobjikha →  Paro 🏞️ –Begin your journey departing fromPhobjikha Valley after breakfast. Enjoy last glimpses of the valley and perhaps a short walk in the crisp morning air. → Start your scenic drive toParo (approx. 5–6 hours, winding mountain roads, spectacular views).

Day 8: Paro Taksang🛣️ –also known as the Tiger’s Nest—is one of the most iconic spiritual sites in Bhutan and a must-see when visiting.VisitingTaktsang Monastery is a highlight of any trip to Bhutan, combining adventure, spiritual atmosphere, and breathtaking scenery.

Day 9: Departure from Paro ✈️ – Transfer to Paro Airport for your flight home.
