The Thimphu Tsechu is one of the biggest and most important religious festivals in Bhutan, held every year at the courtyard of Tashichho Dzong in Thimphu.

It is celebrated to honor Guru Rinpoche, the saint who brought Buddhism to Bhutan in the 8th century.

The festival usually takes place in September or October, according to the Bhutanese lunar calendar.
