If magic and myths fascinates you then you cannot miss the unique Eastern Bhutan Festival of Gomphu Kora. It is uplifting, colorful with tremendous religious significance. The people all over the Eastern Bhutan including the tribes from neighboring Arunachal Pradesh, come to witness the Gom Kora Festival in their finest attire. Gom Kora itself is a place of magic. It has the ambience of medieval time with gigantic monolithic rocks rising from the paddy fields and the roaring Dangmechu River in the background.

The Tour begins from the West of Bhutan (Thimphu, Paro, and Punakha) where you can enjoy historical sightseeing places. Then stop at Bumthang, the heart of Central Bhutan and end in the remote village of Eastern Bhutan. You will also be visiting the less touristic places like Lhuntse, Mongar, and Trashiyangtse where you can taste authentic rural Bhutan.

Bhutan Grand Circuit – 15 Days 

Day 1: Arrive in Thimphu

Arrive in Thimphu, check in to your hotel. Visit Buddha Dordenma, walk around the city, explore the market.

Day 2: Thimphu

See Tashichho Dzong, visit the Folk Heritage Museum, explore handicraft shops, and try local cuisine.

Day 3: Drive to Punakha

Travel via Dochula Pass to Punakha. Visit Punakha Dzong and walk across the suspension bridge.

Day 4: Punakha

Hike to Chimi Lhakhang (Fertility Temple), relax by the river, and enjoy a peaceful evening.

Day 5: Travel to Phobjikha Valley

Journey to Phobjikha Valley. Visit Gangtey Monastery and enjoy nature walks in the valley.

Day 6: Phobjikha Valley

Explore local villages, spot black-necked cranes if in season, and enjoy the quiet countryside.

Day 7: Trongsa

Drive to Trongsa, visit Trongsa Dzong, and learn about Bhutanese history at the local museum.

Day 8: Bumthang

Travel to Bumthang, visit Jakar Dzong, and explore temples like Kurjey Lhakhang.

Day 9: Bumthang

Visit more monasteries, sample local cheese and honey, and relax in a local guesthouse or resort.

Day 10: Mongar

Drive to Mongar, visit Mongar Dzong, and enjoy eastern Bhutanese hospitality.

Day 11: Lhuntshe

Go to Lhuntshe, explore traditional villages, and learn about the region’s weaving traditions.

Day 12: Tashigang

Travel to Tashigang, visit Tashigang Dzong, and walk the town’s main street.

Day 13: Tashiyangtshe

Take a day trip to Tashiyangtshe, visit Chorten Kora, and stroll by the river.

Day 14: Paro

Return to Paro, visit the market, Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery, and enjoy a restful evening.

Day 15: Paro

Visit the National Museum, and depart from Paro.
